AES Encrypt / Decrypt
Encrypt and decrypt text with AES-128, AES-192 or AES-256 using the Web Crypto API. Choose GCM, CBC or CTR mode, generate keys and IVs, and get Base64 or Hex output. Everything runs in your browser — your data never leaves the page.

How to use the AES Encrypt / Decrypt tool
Encrypt or decrypt data with AES using the browser's native Web Crypto API. Supports 128, 192 and 256-bit keys in three modes: GCM, CBC and CTR.
Modes
- GCM — authenticated encryption. Recommended: it detects tampering. The IV (nonce) should be unique per encryption; the tool auto-appends a 16-byte GCM tag.
- CBC — classic block mode with PKCS#7 padding.
- CTR — counter mode; the IV is the initial counter block (16 bytes).
Steps
- Pick Action (encrypt / decrypt), key size and mode.
- Provide the key as hex (16/24/32 bytes = 32/48/64 hex chars) and the IV as hex. Use Generate key and Random IV to create them securely.
- Enter your data (plaintext to encrypt, or Base64/Hex ciphertext to decrypt) and click Run.
All encryption is performed locally with Web Crypto — nothing is transmitted.
